STRIVE has (3) Programs which engage youth with fun ways to stay active.

STRIVE Camps

STRIVE Camps offer youth the ability to receive introductory training on swimming and basic water safety.  These camps can be either open to the community or exclusive through a grant/partnership.  Camps sites which are available to the general public will be have registration details located on our website.

STRIVE Splash -N- Dash Races

We will be hosting our 5th USAT Splash N Dash part of the Youth Aquathlon Series.  This event will be held in College Park, MD on June 10th at the Ellen Linson Splash Park near the University of Maryland. These are youth friendly events which encourage participants to perform a multi-sport event in a safe, nurturing environment.

STRIVE Jr. Triathlon Club

Lastly our Competitive Jr. Triathlon Program starts on 5/3 until July with an extended schedule for experienced members.  These are youth prepared to start complete a triathlon (swim, bike & run) in a supportive environment to develop their skills in this fun sport.

Why must I register for a STRIVE Splash -N- Dash Race?

All STRIVE Splash N Dash Athletes (Campers, Racer or Jr. Triathletes) must pay & register for a Splash N Dash Race Event. These events are confidence builders and teach youth the benefit of preparing for short, obtainable goals. We have experienced great success with creating this model where youth use the skills taught at the Camp and put those lessons together at this culminating event which inspires them to stay healthy throughout the summer.

What do I get when I register for a STRIVE Splash -N- Dash Race?

All participants receive an annual USA Triathlon (USAT) Youth Membership which provides numerous benefits to your child ranging from insurance, merchandise discounts and quarterly magazines to name a few. An active USAT Youth Membership is a requirement for your child to join STRIVE during any event or practice. Additionally registration to a Splash -N- Dash Race allows you child entry to a youth friendly event where all participant receive a Finisher Medal and Shirt.

What is the USA Triathlon Association (USAT)?

USA Triathlon (USAT) is the official national governing body of mult-sport training disciplines of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and winter triathlon in the United States. STRIVE staff consists of USAT certified Adults, Jr/Youth and USA certified swim coaches. Visit their website to learn more about USAT and their various programs.

Must my child be an athlete to participate?

No, STRIVE has an array of programs ranging from introductory to advanced for all ability levels. Our Splash -N- Dash Camp is designated to provide the fundamentals of swimming and running techniques to strengthen Campers in a nurturing environment. The Splash -N- Dash Race Series are based on participation; not competition where the swimming pool permits novice and experienced swimmers a chance to join in the fun.

The Competitive Jr. Triathlon Club is available to those youth who can swim a 100 meters unassisted, have a fully functional bike and access to additional resources to support their race. i.e. Race Entry Fee, Travel, etc

What attire must I bring to CAMP?

Campers should bring the following to items:

USAT Membership Card, swim gear (girls/1piece – boys/shorts with s-liner), shorts/t-shirt for run training, sneakers, towel)

Is there transportation or aftercare?

Unfortunately we do not provide transportation to/from any STRIVE Program nor do we have Aftercare service. Parents/Guardians must ensure children travel arrangements are coordinated with the child being picked up at the end of practices, events or races. STRIVE is not responsible for children left unattended due to late arrivals.
